Cryptocurrency podcast adverts are literally insane. Do the advertisers think we don’t remember what happened to first-rich-white-guy-to-jail Sam Bankman Fried?

Crypto exchange Kraken in particular has been spending like a drunken sailor on podcast adverts that try to normalise the use of crypto, speciously (if ambitiously) comparing it to um… songwriting? Here’s a brief piece I wrote, providing a copywriter’s perspective on the increasingly deranged ways podcast advertising is composed and pitched. The madness is a sign, and not a happy one…
